Yes well... ahem...
As you know, hollywood has taken quite a liking to Japan lately.
They've started out with many remakes of classic horrors such as Pulse, Ju-On (The Grudge), Ringu (The Ring), One Missed Call, and Shutter.
BUT
Now they've started moving onto taking the part Japanese culture of which is ANIME and making ADAPTATIONS of them.
As you'd like to call them, live-actions.
I think it all started with the release of Transformers, which was based on both the brand toy and the original first series that was made into anime form.
So now Hollywood has planned many, MANY releases of soon to be adaptations of anime.
They've already made (AND DESTROYED) Dragonball... but now it's time to get over that and move on to other stories, since Hollywood is just a fast-paced world and loves its money.
The newest movie to be released is BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE.
I'm sure you all can guess what this movie is based on.
Blood: The Last Vampire is based on the anime movie, Blood: The Last Vampire, not Blood +. Blood + was BASED off of this movie. Though, they do share some characters, mainly Saya.
This looks good from what I can tell, though some effects are a little 'eh'. But what should I expect from the people who made Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? =/
Oh well, I would still like to see it just to see Diva and Saya kick ass.
Here's the trailer~
[link]The next movie to be released (or from what I'm guessing) is The Last Airbender.
Yes, this isn't really Japanese anime, but it has the style and is being taken in as an adaptation.
M. Night Shyamalan. Love. His. Work. Everyone always goes, "Oh, he sucks 'cuz The Happening was stupid and ended stupidly... STUPID STUPID STUPID" Well uh, have you forgotten all his other hits? The Sixth Sense? Unbreakable? The Signs? They each hold a special meaning to him and display debatable things in the world in each one. The Happening was mass suicide, The Sixth Sense was seeing is believing, and if the paranormal exist. Even Lady in the Water displayed what people still fight about today, whether magic and stories of fiction were and/or are real.
This will be a great movie from what I can tell.
The cast is a little... pale. But they still fit very well, and don't complain "It's not asian enough!" Well um, HELLO? THIS ISN'T FUCKIN' EARTH. There is no Asia, they're was either the four kingdoms... which were pretty much tanned or pale. =/
I know it was INFLUENCED by the asian culture, but look at the characters in the show, most of them except water tribe people are fuxin' pale.
The effects are amazing so far, I cannot wait for this.
Trailer here~
[link]The next movie has not actually been scheduled on a certain date, but whatever.
Death Note.
Yes, Death Note.
Ah, I actually wish to see this.
It would be interesting to see how America spouts it out on its turn for one of the most popular stories ever.
NO, THEY WILL NEVER CAST ZAC EFRON, THE IMMORTAL, AS LIGHT YAGAMI. NEVER. NEVER. NEVER.
He's already sold his immortal soul to Disney, BLEH.
Doing a cult movie would probably go against his great deal with them.
Lawl idk.
But this would be interesting....
Next two are to be released in or around 2011.
Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Oh great.
This is iffy.
How they get the plot across is difficult for me to fully comprehend, but I've seen some of the designs and sketches and I have to say, they're sticking pretty well to it. (Other than the fact NO ONE will probably be Japanese, but eh, I don't mind personally...)
They know what they're doing and from what I can tell by effects and graphics from Transformers and other similar robot movies, they'll get those mechas down easily.
COWBOY BEBOP
Well.....
I don't know.
I heard they were making the movie based on the first episode where it actually gets into the show and characters and settings and blah blah blah.
Since this is a complex show, they most likely will make more than one movie. Which will be AWESOME.
Though, I just hope the cast is alright.
Since Spike is being played by Keanu Reaves. No, seriously, he is.
Bleh.
Though he should do it alright I suppose.
Others, of which I have nothing to say yet. (Some may not be made)
Ghost in the Shell
Ninja Scroll (will be R, trust me. Will contain lots of blood.... and nudity)
Lupin
Akira (ON HOLD)
Hellsing
Full Metal Panic!
Witchblade
Red Sonja
Thundercats
Tekkan
Devil May Cry
Battle Angel Alita
Kiki's Delivery Service
Miki Falls
Astro Boy
SO SEEING G.I. JOE GAIZ. MADE BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE MUMMY. TOTALLY MY SCENE.
And I'm going to Otakon tomorrow... but I can't take anyone.... V__V I'll be in brown capris with some black jacket and shirt on most likely.... yeah....totally.

Thanks so much for drawing my VK character for me.
OK, She kind of looks like this:
Blondish-brown hair to her shoulders that's usually wavy. She has side bangs that go to the left and is usually kept straight. She has light green eyes with specks of blue of them. (Her mother had Blue eyes while her father had light green) She's in Day Class too.
I hope that helps, If you need more details, Just comment me back.
Arigoto!
